In 2018 Vicki Gordon founded the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) in Brisbane with support from the QLD Government, Canon and numerous other partners.
AWMA has been established to honour women who are making an extraordinary contribution to the Australian Music Industry recognising excellence in artistry, technical & production skills, management, cross-cultural development, song writing, music education, music photography, classical music, music journalism, humanitarian work and more. This includes male & female mentors who have helped to expand the role of women and female pioneers and leaders who have helped to pave the way for change.
AWMA is the culmination of Vicki’s life time commitment to addressing gender and cultural equity in the Australian Music Industry.
