VICKI GORDON

Vicki GordonVICKI GORDON is a highly successful Independent Music Theatre Producer. Her skills combine her deep connection to Indigenous Australia with her extensive networks in the music & theatre Industries and vast experience in the corporate world.

Vicki produced Australia's first Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women's Contemporary Music Festival With Open Eyes; Australia's first All Girl Rock Festival Fast Forward, Australia’s first Training program for Female DJ's SCRATCH and first fanzine for Female Musicians. As founding Director of the Independent record label Transistor Music she was integral to the success of Vanessa Amorosi's debut album The Power (5x Platinum) as well as numerous Australian independent artists.

She has been music manager to Indigenous singer/songwriters Brenda Webb, Emma Donovan and Ursula Yovich producing Webb's ARIA nominated debut single Little Black Girl and Donovan's EP & video tribute to the stolen generations, Ngarraanga. She has worked with First Nations artists in various capacities for more than 25 years including Uncle Jimmy Little, The Mills Sisters, Ruby Hunter, Christine Anu, Lou Bennett, Romaine Moreton, Casey Donovan, Leah Purcell, Radical Son, Archie Roach, Elaine Crombie, Troy Brady, East Journey, Ngaiire, Dan Sultan, Street Warriors, Stiff Gins, Busby Marou, Leah Flanagan, Philly MC, Mindy Kwanten, Ajak Kwai, Merenia Marin, Georgia Corowa and more.

Vicki produced the South Pacific Women's ensemble Singaot Sista premiering the company at Fest Napuan in Vanuatu (2010). She produced and curated the critically acclaimed Barefoot Divas Sydney and NZ International Arts Festivals (2012), Queensland Music Festival (2013) independently touring the company to North America, Canada and Hawaii (2014) selling out the Hong Kong Concert Hall in 2015. In 2016 she was Associate Producer for Romaine Moreton's One Billion Beats co-written with Alana Valentine.

She is currently Co-producer for the critically acclaimed Indigenous rock musical Barbara & the Camp Dogs, Associate Producer & Music Supervisor for tele series Tales by Light Series 3, Creative Producer for the Healing Song Project and founding Director and Executive Producer for the inaugural Australian Women in Music Awards to be staged at the Brisbane Powerhouse 9 - 10 October 2018.

Vicki has been awarded a Human Rights Award Commendation, Women in the Arts Fellowship, Community Cultural Development Award and numerous ARIA Awards in recognition of her contribution to Industry.
