VICKI GORDON
VICKI GORDON is an award winning Creative Producer & Cultural specialist for Music, Music Theatre, Events and Documentary. She is a finalist in the 2020 Telstra Business Women’s Awards and recognised as an AFR Top 100 Women of Influence in 2019 for her life time commitment to gender & cultural equity within the Australian Music Industry.
Her deep connection to Indigenous Australia combined with her vast experience across the Arts has enabled her to build unique connections and lasting friendships with First Nations people for more than 30 years.
Vicki is Co-Producer for the multi Award winning Women’s Rock Musical Barbara & the Camp Dogs picking up numerous nominations, 4x Green Room Awards in 2020 and 4x Helpmann Awards in 2019 including Best Musical & Best Score.
She also produced Australia's first Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women's Contemporary Music Festival With Open Eyes; first All Girl Rock Festival Fast Forward and first Training program for Female DJ's. She has been Manager to singer/songwriters Brenda Webb, Emma Donovan and Ursula Yovich producing Webb's ARIA nominated debut single and video Little Black Girl and Donovan's EP & video tribute to the stolen generations Ngarraanga.
In 2010 Vicki produced the South Pacific Women's ensemble Singaot Sista premiering at Fest Napuan in Vanuatu. In 2012 she curated and produced the critically acclaimed Barefoot Divas premiering at the Sydney and NZ International Arts Festivals and Queensland Music Festival in 2013. She independently toured the group to North America, Canada and Hawaii in 2014 and sold out the Hong Kong Concert Hall 2015. In 2016 she was Associate Producer for Romaine Moreton's One Billion Beats co-written with Alana Valentine with music by Lou Bennett (Tiddas).
In 2018 she produced the Healing Song Project with Christine Anu. She is currently Founding President for the non-profit charity Cicada International Ltd and Executive Director and Executive Producer for Australian Women in Music Awards. Vicki has been awarded a Human Rights Award Commendation, Women in the Arts and Community Cultural Development Fellowships, PPCA and ARIA Awards in recognition of her contribution to Industry.
